Festival of Trees Scholarship:   One $1,000.00 scholarship will awarded to a graduating senior who will be attending college or a university in the fall.  You must write a short essay on what your community means to you.  The Jett family would also like to offer a scholarship to any senior who is interested in joining the Gardner Fire or EMS to help cover your certification.  Please see guidance on these two scholarships.  Deadline is March 8th.

Nick Morris Production Scholarship:   $500.00 will be given to a student who will be attending a Junior College, 4 year College or University or Trade School.  Must be enrolled fall semester of 2024.  See guidance for application. Deadline is March 8th.

Gardner-South Wilmington High School Alumni Scholarship (sponsored by the class of 1957) - $500 scholarship awarded to GSW senior planning to further their education at an accredited college or technical/trade school and work toward a degree/diploma in the student's choice of study. Application available in guidance office. Application Deadline is March 8th.

Sharon Leve Band Booster Scholarship - $500 scholarship available to one senior who has been a member of the GSW Band, Chorus or Pantherette Spiritline for four years and has been accepted by and enrolled in a junior college, college or university for the fall semester of 2024. Lions Club Scholarship - $500 scholarship awarded to TWO G.S.W. graduating seniors continuing their education at a 2 year, 4 year college, trade or vocational studies program.  For application and more information, see guidance. Applications due date is March 8th.

Exelon Scholarship - $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a deserving GSW senior who plans on entering a career of science or technology. Please see guidance for more information. Deadline is March 8th.

Mack & Associates, P.C.Scholarship: The Gardner-South Wilmington Accounting & Business Scholarship will award $1,000.00 to one senior student of Gardner South Wilmington High School who will be attending a two or four year college or university in the fall of 2024, who plans to study in the fields of accounting or business.  All applicants must complete the questionnaire form and include a 250 word essay to accompany their application submission. The essay should explain why the applicant has chosen to pursue a degree in accounting or business.  Incomplete applications will not be considered. Diane Donnelly Family Scholarship: - $1000.00 scholarship will be awarded to one senior who will be continuing their education after graduation. You must write a short essay that describes areas in your life where you demonstrated leadership and overcame obstacles either through your school, social or family life. Application Deadline is March 8th Please see guidance for more information. 

Masonic Scholarship: $1,000.00 Scholarship will be awarded to one senior who will be enrolled in a 4-year college-a 2 year junior college- or an accredited trade school or vocation training school.   This award is provided by Mazon Lodge #826.  If selected your presentation will be given on March 12th at 8:00 pm at the lodge.  Please see guidance for more information. JOLIET JUNIOR COLLEGE – Check out their website for a variety of scholarship opportunities.  For more information, go to http://www.jjc.edu/info/scholarships. Seniors you much have a jjc login and email address to apply.  There is over 700 scholarships to apply for. These scholarships will be available starting February 1st and the deadline is May 15th.

JOLIET JUNIOR COLLEGE - The JJC Foundation Scholarship is offering a merit scholarship.  This Merit is for tuition and fees for the academic year (full time enrollment) up to a maximum of $3,600.00  The student must have a 3.25 or higher GPA and a score of 1070 or higher on the SAT/21 or higher on the ACT.  The application site is called Award Spring.  Students interested can visit http://www.jjc.edu/scholarshipsApplication will be available starting February 1st and deadline is March 8th. 

FRED DRENDEL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - AGRICULTURE - Two (2) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to a graduating high school senior pursuing a degree or career in agricultural related field. This scholarship can be used for tuition and books at any accredited college, university or trade school for the fall of 2024. For an application please see guidance for an application on what is

Community Foundation of Grundy County Scholarship:   If you are a senior attending GAVC and enrolled in Automotive or Fire Science class there will be two scholarships awarded to any senior who qualifies.  More information on these scholarship can be found at www.gavc-il.org.  

Grundy County Marine Corps League Scholarship - $1000 scholarship awarded to graduating senior of a Grundy County High School planning to attend a post-secondary career training program, college or university.  For application and more information, see guidance.  Deadline is March 8th, 2024

Vista Learning Scholarship and Laptop - $1000 scholarship AND laptop will be awarded to graduating senior from Grundy-Kendall County. Student MUST qualify for free or reduced lunch. For more information, see guidance. 

Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Bloomington - SEVERAL scholarships are available on their website www.valleyofbloomington.org/scholarships - Go to this website and click on the scholarships tab along the top. Some of their available scholarships require you to have a Masonic Relative and others are open to the public. For additional information please see their website or see guidance. All applications are electronic. Deadline is March 8th 2024 

Contractors Association of Will & Grundy Counties - Scholarship opportunity available to graduating senior who will be attending college full-time in the fall of 2024 pursuing a construction related undergraduate degree.  Must be the son/daughter of an owner and/or full time employee of a CAWGC member company or a son/daughter of a Will/Grundy union building tradesman. Student must have a C or better average. For Samantha Scholarship:   This scholarship is an opportunity for High School Seniors to earn money to help pay for college expenses.  This scholarship is open to any student regardless of grade point average or financial need.  To qualify the student must be a US citizen, a high school senior and must have been accepted to and plan to attend an institution of higher learning within the United States.  Students can find the application on our website: http://www.forsamantha.org or please see the guidance office. Riverside Hospital Community Outreach Scholarship:   Is offering a monetary scholarship for any student who attended one of our Distracted Driving or Pre-Prom (mock prom accidents) this year. Please see Guidance for additional information, Application deadline is to be determined.

Illinois Retired Teachers Association (IRTA)  This scholarship is being offered through the Grundy County Retired Teachers Association.  You must meet all requirements to be considered for this scholarship.  The IRTA awards six $2,000 scholarships throughout the state to incoming juniors and seniors who ate residents of Illinois and graduates of an Illinois high school.                      The HELEN Kennedy Scholarship - awards one $2,000 scholarship to an incoming sophomore, junior or senior enrolled in a recognized college or University.  Applicants must have declared a major in education.                                                                           Rose Sandstrom Scholarship - award a $2,000 scholarship to an incoming senior who is a graduate of an Illinois High School. Each applicant  must have declared a major in physical education and be enrolled at Monmouth College or Western Illinois University. Illinois Sheriffs' Association:  The Illinois Sheriffs' Association will be awarding over 100 scholarships throughout the State of Illinois to students wishing to purse higher education during the 2023-2024 academic year.  This scholarship is worth $500.00, applications are available at your local sheriff's office or on the Illinois Sheriffs' Association website at www.ilsheriff.org  You must meet all requirements to be considered for this scholarship and all completed paperwork along with essay. Application deadline to be determined.

Grundy County Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarship - $500 to $1000 (amount to be determined) scholarship available to graduating senior continuing their education at a post-secondary school. Must be a member or dependent of a member of the Grundy County Farm Bureau or be actively involved in the Collegiate Farm Bureau program. GAVC SCHOLARSHIPS:   Current seniors that attend GAVC can apply only.  Please see GAVC.com to apply for scholarships.

DCFS Scholarship:   Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is currently accepting application for the 2024 scholarship program for current and former youth in care.  Any questions or concerns about the application process can be directed to the DCFS Office of Education. Applications may be obtained at DCFS.scholarship@illinois.gov

Kathryn G. Hansen Scholarship:   Each year the the University of Illinois, Illinois Administrative Professionals offers the Kathryn Hansen scholarship to students planning to pursue higher education in the office professional or business-related fields.One $500.00 scholarship will be offered if you plan on attending college in Illinois for the 23-24 school year.  The application is available on-line at http://publish.illinois.edu/illinois-admin-professionals/secretariat-scholarship/about-the-scholarship/ Please see their website for additional information. 

Streator Onized Credit Union (SOCU): Is offering educational scholarships for the 2023-2024 school year.  Five (5) scholarships will be awarded to recipients in the amount of $500.00 each and three (3) scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $250.00 each.  Please see the attached link to see if you qualify. http://www.streatoronizedcreditunion. You must be a member in good standing with the credit union to apply. Township Official of Illinois Scholarship Fund Award:   Each year, since 1989, the Township Official of Illinois Scholarship fund awards funds to graduating high school senior to continue their education at Illinois/colleges/universities. Golden Apple Scholars: If you dream of Teaching you can receive up to $23,000 in financial assistance and much more.  Please apply http://www.goldenapple.org/scholars

PB & J Scholarship Foundation: This scholarship is for students who have experienced personal challenges that may not have allowed them to perform well academically, but who still have the drive to succeed. We offer awards that range from $500-$1000.  Students please fill out the online application.  To learn more please log onto http://www.pbjscholarship.org

Give Something Back Foundation - This scholarship program process begins with FRESHMEN. To qualify, the student must have a 3.0 GPA and qualify for the full Pell Grant. For more information, go to https://www.giveback.ngo/

ACT Scholarships Program - ACT introduced a new Scholarship Program in 2024, giving away more than $50,000 in Scholarships. This year ACT  will give more students the opportunity for a chance to participate in the ACT Scholarship Giveaway Program.  Please see http://act.org/scholarshipgiveaway/

Promise America Grant:   This grant in Illinois will focus on helping individuals get the skills necessary for employment in Manufacturing in the Chicago Metropolitan area with a focus on the southern part of the City, Cook and Will County. Western Illinois University:   WIU has reserved Scholarship for a student who will attend WIU in the fall of 2024.  Please see their website at www.wiu.edu/student_success/scholarship 

Lewis University:    Lewis University Partners with TheDream.US for Scholarship Opportunities .  You must meet all current immigration eligibility criteria including DACA or TPS.  TheDream.US Scholars to cover 100 percent of their tuition and fees for 4 years. The scholarship application is NOW OPEN!  For more information please log on to www.thedream.us  

St. Norbert College Music Department:  If you are a student that wants to continue your music involvements, St. Norbert College is offering music scholarships.  St. Norbert College music scholarships are available to any student, regardless of your major.  Please visit their website to gather more information about their program and scholarship opportunities.   www.snc.edu/affordability/types-of-aid/merrit/aid

Peacekeepers College Scholarship: Students must be enrolled as a full-time student during the 2023-2024 school year (excluding summer session) this scholarship must be utilized at institutions of higher learning.  Applicants must be dependents of active duty or retired Law Enforcement or Law Enforcement killed in line of duty death or dependents of active duty military, active Military Reserve, active National Guard or a member killed in action. You may obtain an application at http://www.ilsherriff.org 

Minority Teacher Scholarship Program: (MTI)   If you are pursuing a career in teaching and in order for your application to be considered you must complete the online application.  You must log in to the http://studentportal.isac.org and create a profile. The application deadline to be determined. 

Morris Hospital Foundation:  The Morris Hospital Foundation is offering scholarships to students from the Morris Hospital service area who are pursuing an education in healthcare.   A total of $14,000 in awards will be available this year. You must meet all requirements to apply for these scholarships.  To gather more information log on to http://www.morrishospital.org  in the search box type in scholarships and you will be able to view the foundation scholarships.  Please see their website for application deadline. 

Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC):  Please see Guidance for additional information or visit http://www.netc.navy.mil/NROTC

Kendal - Grundy County Community Services Block Grant Scholarship: These scholarships provide financial assistance to eligible individuals who reside in Grundy or Kendal County and is designed in cooperation with the Illinois Dept. of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.  You must meet the criteria that is requested. Application(s) must meet income eligibility guidelines.  Please see Guidance for the application.  All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply. Deadline to be determined.

Burger King Scholarship - High school seniors, BURGER KING employees, their dependent children, spouses or domestic partners in the U.S. Canada and Puerto Rico can apply to receive $1,000 to $50,000 scholarships if you plan on attending a college or university in the fall of 2024.  You must have a GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scare (or equivalent) Be active in their school, community and/or have work experience.  To learn more and apply http://www.bk-scholars.com

National Co-op Scholarship Program - Receive $6000 (renewable) to attend a WACE Partner University.  There are 10 universities to choose from! Grundy Work Force Service Grant: Need assistance for career training? To see if you qualify you must go to http://grundyworkforce.com and submit the form. 

IFBW: Illinois Federation of Business Women's Club is awarding six $2,000 scholarships to deserving young women in Illinois.  High School seniors are encouraged to apply.  If selected, scholarship winners must be willing to participate in our Virtual Speak-Off Competition.  IFBW is a state-wide organization that strives to make a difference in the lives of working women.  To learn more about this scholarship and for the application visit http://www.ifbwc.org/scholarships  Please see their website for application deadline.

Pursuit of Excellence Scholarship:  University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is offering a $3,000.00 scholarship. This scholarship is for any male student that will be entering in the fall of 2024 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  You must have achieved a 3.0 or above GPA in your overall high school academic studies through your junior year in high school.  You must complete the online application at http://www.sigmanuillinois.com/poe.html  Please see their website for deadline dates.

University of St, Francis:  The University of St.Francis is offering a FOUR (4) year scholarship up to $8,000 per year for an eligible senior applying at USF as a first-year freshman that will be majoring in Education.  You must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.  Commitment to teach in Joliet schools for either two or four years upon graduation from USF.  To apply visit http://stfrancis.edu/merit   

Illinois Odd Fellow-Rebekah Scholarship - Multiple scholarships worth varying amounts. Student must  attend post-secondary school or accredited vocational or technical training school and who have maintained at least a 'C' grade average. Application Deadline to be determined. Illinois AMVETS Service Foundation Scholarships - MULTIPLE scholarships worth varying amounts. Must be a 2024 high school graduate, preference given to military families. For more information, go to www.ilamvets,org/scholarships

Illinois Conservation Foundation (ICF) -  There will be up to four scholarships of $2,000.00 each that will be awarded for the 2023-24 school year. www.conservation.com - See Guidance for further information. 

Illinois Special Education Teacher Tuition Waiver (SETTW Program)  If you are student who is pursuing a career in teaching to be considered you must log on to complete the online application, the student must log in to the ISAC portal and create a profile.  Application deadline to ne determined. 

Paul O. Johnson Scholarship:  AFT Local 604 is pleased to offer at least one $4,000.00 ($2,000.00 per semester) to a senior who is planning on attending any college or University in the field of Education. Your parent or guardian much be an AFT Local 604 member in good standing.  Please see Guidance for more information.  Please see their website for application deadline. 

Jacqueline B. Vaughn Memorial Scholarship:  AFT Local 604 is pleased to offer at least one $4,000.00 ($2,000.00 per semester) to a senior who is planning on attending any College or University in the field of Education. Your parent or guardian must be an AFT Local 604 member in good standing.   Please see their website for application deadline. 

Heisman High School Scholarship - Class of 2024 here is your chance to be selected.  This scholarship is awarding scholarships to the nations most accomplished and community-minded scholar-athletes male and female. This years winner will compete for 100 scholarships, ranging from $1,000 - $10,000, along with recognition at the state and national levels. U.S Senate Youth Program Hearst Scholarship:   Illinois High School Junior or Seniors are invited to apply for the Hearst Scholarship.  For more information log onto www.ISBE USSYP.com webpage.  Please see their website for application deadline.

Discover Student Loans: 2024 College bound seniors can enter to win 1 of 12 scholarships worth $5,000.00 each.  To enter students can enter at www.Scholarship.CollegeCovered.com Enter early for more chances to win. No essay or lengthy application is required. 

Char & Mike Farrell:   In honor of Char & Mike Farrell, the Community Foundation of Grundy County is now offering two $10,000 scholarship to area students attending University. To honor both of them, the Foundation has created two large endowed scholarships to benefit residents who are juniors or seniors in college in order to help complete their degree.  Grundy County residents One scholarship will go to an education major and one $10,0000 scholarship will go to a student majoring in journalism, communication, or similar degree.  Please call the Community Foundation of Grundy County at 815-941-0852 for further information www.julie@cfgrundycounty.com

Hagan Scholarship Foundation:  This scholarship is a nationwide four-year need-based merit scholarship,  designed to help high-achieving students graduate college debt free, providing $6,000 each semester Recipient must be Pell Grant Eligible  You must attend over four years of college.  For more information and to access the Scholarship application please visit http://www.hsfmo.org 

DAR Scholarships:   Each year the National Society Daughters of American Revolution (DAR) awards multiple scholarships to students showing dedication to the pursuit of higher education in diverse areas of study including history, economics, law, political science, medicine, nursing, occupational and physical therapy, elementary and secondary education, chemistry, math, science and English. Please see their website at scholarships@nsdar.org  Deadline is January 31st.
